LiPPERTs CoreExpress-Eco: CoreExpress(R) Com Module - Intel Atom(TM) Prozessor -

CoreExpress®-ECO

  • CoreExpress® - COM Module - Intel® Atom™ processor

The Computer-On-Module module CoreExpress-ECO works with Intel's Atom processor. In January, 2010, the SFF-SIG adopted Core Express as an Industry Standard architecture..

Its size of 58 mm x 65 mm makes it the smallest embedded PC module available. The tiny overall size comes from the uncompromising, legacy-free design that does without the usual analog interfaces. The used Intel Atom processor is build in power-saving 45 nanometer technology and features a completely new microcode yet retains compatibility to the familiar programming model of the Core™ 2 Duo. The module's focus towards low current consumption is apparent when considering the extremely low power requirement of typically 5 watts at 1.6 GHz.

Evaluation is simple usig the provided evaluation kit. Check out the information about the evaluation kit here.

Check www.CoreExpress.com for news and updates of the CoreExpress® specification.

LEMT

CoreExpress-ECO: LEMT Functions

LEMT (LiPPERT Enhanced Management Technology) is LiPPERT's way of managing and supervising embedded PCs. It offers features like advanced watchdog handling, supervision counters, and non-volatile storage for asset handling. More details about the used techniques and implementation are availabe in the Knowledge Base section.

The CoreExpress-ECO implements these Functions:

Function name Description
Total operating hours counter Counts the number of hours the module has been run in minutes
On-time minutes counter Indicates the amount of time since last power on in minutes
Power cycles counter Counts how often the module has been powered on
Watchdog timer Set / Reset / Disable / Trigger Watchdog Timer
System restart reason Power loss / Watchdog / External Reset
Fail-safe-BIOS support In case of a boot failure, hardware signals tell external logic to boot from a Fail-Safe-BIOS
Flash area 1024 bytes of Flash area for customer data
Protected flash area 128 Bytes. Keys, ID’s, etc. can be stored in a write- and clear-protectable region
Board identity Vendor ID / board ID / serial number
Temperature Monitor Read the actual temperatures of the CPU and Board. Stores Temperatures at Power-up.
Temperature Logger Stores Min-/Max-Temperature of the CPU and Board
