Peak performance for mobile embedded PC's – the Cool XpressRunner-GS45
The fastest currently available PCI/104-Express board comes from LiPPERT Embedded Computers' product portfolio. The Cool XpressRunner-GS45, with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Mobile GS45 chipset, and 1 GB DDR3 RAM delivers pure power for mobile embedded PC's.
LiPPERT Embedded Computers' first PCI/104-Epress single board computer, the Cool XpressRunner-GS45, dwarfs all other comparable boards. An Intel Core 2 Duo, clocked at 2.53 GHz, together with the Intel Mobile GS45 chipset, delivers performance figures for a PCI/104-Express formatted embedded PC, unseen until today.

The used chips are manufactured with advanced semiconductor technology and use relatively small power for a processor with this clock rate and 1066 MHz front side bus. This small power consumption enables the small formats required for truly wearable computers.
The Cool XpressRunner-GS45 is equipped with a full gigabyte of fast DDR2 RAM, which increases the computing performance by another notch. The Mobile GS45 chipset integrates a GMA X4500 high performance graphics controller and supports in addition to SDVO over PCI Express also VGA and LVDS interfaces. High definition audio with analog and digital interfaces are provided, too.
A gigabit LAN port, eight USB 2.0 host ports and 2 serial interfaces for either RS232 or RS485 handle communication with external computers or peripheral devices. Two hot-plug capable SATA ports are also on board.
Like all new developments from LiPPERT, the Cool XpressRunner-GS45 features LiPPERT Enhanced Management Technlogy (LEMT). Its functions are implemented using an integrated micro controller. Among them is housekeeping work like power sequencing, as well as utility functions for the application software, for instance write/delete protected flash memory and various state counters, usable for condition monitoring.
The Cool XpressRunner-GS45 is particularly suited for applications with a great demand towards computing power. Optionally available models are qualified for the extended temperature range and fit especially well into stand-alone outdoor applications.
