Four different types of cooling solutions facilitate system integration LiPPERT now provides not only the Toucan COM Express module featuring Intel's latest processors, the Core Duo and the Core 2 Duo, but also delivers ready-made cooling solutions for it.Keeping these powerful computing modules at healthy temperatures can be a tough task for the system integrator. LiPPERT eases this chore by providing four useful, ready-made coolers for the Toucan. Two of these are especially designed for the Celeron M version of the Toucan. One is a passive cooler, usable for the standard temperature range of -20...+60°C; the other has an integrated active fan and may be used in extreme environmental temperatures from -40°...+85°C. Also available is an active cooler for all Toucans equipped with Intel Core Duo processors, regardless of their clock speed. It can be used with the Core 2 Duo (Merom) models, too. The cooler is suitable from -20°...+60°C, which is the maximum range possible for these more power hungry devices. Integrators designing their own, possibly conduction cooling solution, may want to use the fourth offering, a heat-spreader. This carefully crafted metal plate fits exactly to the Toucan module and can be attached to enclosures, heat pipes and other cooling schemes. An application note lists all four cooling solutions.
